Supply Partners, consulted and supplied the inverters, export control and monitoring solutions for the 98kW solar installation at Salmon Earth Moving in Stapylton Queensland. The principal consultant was Luke Hard www.smartconsult.com.au
and the company who installed the system were Queensland Commercial Solar.
After encountering a few hurdles, including some 20-year-old wiring and an isolated electricity meter, the installation ended up with multiple PV arrays, multiple inverters on two buildings, a standalone zero export device and a detailed monitoring system integrated by Wi-Fi and radio.
The system was split across two buildings, which created difficulties, the buildings were 150m apart, the main switchboard was then in a third location. Peter Britten Technical Director at Supply Partners designed the wireless solution which involved a 433Hz radio link for the protection relays, and two separate Wi-Fi connections for linear ramping control and real time data collection using an eGuage monitor. The eGuage is integrated directly into the ABB inverter RS-485 output, allowing for the complete system to be monitored to a string level, plus grid and net consumption monitoring.
Key Equipment Installed:
- 378 x Jinko 260 W panels
- 3 x 27.6 ABB solar inverters
- Supply Partners zero export controller
- eGauge real-time monitoring system.
